Multi Hand Blackjack

Multi-Hand Blackjack is a fun version of the standard game that allows for up to 5 hands played by each player.  These hands are played at the same time, but are independent of each other and present 5 chances to win the hand.

Rules engaged in Multi-Hand Blackjack are much like standard blackjack.  For instance, each player aims to beat the dealer by holding a hand with a total value higher than the dealer, but without going over 21.  Jacks, queens and kings have a value of 10, numbered cards are worth face value, and aces may count as either a 1 or 11.

To make things a little more interesting, there are various versions of Multi-Hand Blackjack.  These may include Multi-Hand Classic Blackjack, Multi-Hand Atlantic City Blackjack, Multi-Hand European Blackjack, and Multi-Hand Vegas Strip Blackjack.  Differences between these types of Multi-Hand Blackjack are largely centered upon how many decks are used, dealer rules on soft 17, as well as surrendering and doubling down after splitting rules.

Multi-hand versions of alternate forms of standard blackjack also exist.  For example, you may find a table offering Multi-Hand Pontoon Blackjack, Multi-Hand Bonus Blackjack, Multi-Hand Double Exposure Blackjack, or Multi-Hand Spanish Blackjack.

Many players who find and master their favorite variation of standard blackjack enjoy moving up to the multi-hand version of that game.  Each allows for up to 5 chances to win a hand, which can greatly increase possible winnings.

Regardless of the specific type of Multi-Hand Blackjack a player is taking part in, he or she will first decide how many hands to play, up to and including 5 total.  After placing the bets on these hands, the cards are dealt and playing begins.

One important factor in Multi-Hand Blackjack is that the dealer only ever plays one hand.  Each hand played by a player in the game is only competing against this one hand.

Games continue to proceed according to the specific version’s normal rules and goals.  Each hand played is always independent of the next one, and may require a different call than another.

Multi-Hand Blackjack allows for multiple outcomes in each hand played.  A player may win several hands, lose them all, or break even at the end of a hand.

Two-card 21 hands, also known as blackjacks, consist of an ace and a card with a value of 10.  This is the most valuable hand to have in Multi-Hand Blackjack because a player can’t lose with this outcome.

Playing Multi-Hand Blackjack and multi-hand versions of other types of blackjack greatly increases the chances of beating the dealer with a blackjack and winning the 3:2 payout.  These games are often offered both online and in live casinos, but it is suggested that a player begin with the online version.

Multi-Hand Blackjack takes significantly longer to play than standard blackjack, and the dealer or other players may become impatient with a beginner attempting to play at a live table.  Online tables will allow beginners to take their time in making play decisions with each of their hands, and begin to become accustomed to playing multiple blackjack hands at once.
